Sustainability

At Lorrel, sustainability begins with design.

Our Build Upon Wardrobing™ philosophy is rooted in creating versatile, multi-wear pieces that allow women to build a capsule wardrobe with fewer garments. When clothing mixes, layers, and transforms, you naturally buy less and wear more — reducing waste at the source.

Responsible Materials

Our debut collection featured EcoBlue’s Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified recycled polyester knit jersey, made from 100% recycled materials and manufactured under responsible environmental and social practices.

For Collection 2, sourcing in-stock recycled woven fabric at our quality standard proved limited. Rather than overproduce, we made intentional choices:

• We source responsible materials from trusted mills in Korea
• We utilize in-stock fabrics to prevent unnecessary new production
• We use dye sublimation printing, a lower-water process compared to traditional dye methods

We believe in repurposing what already exists on the earth rather than extracting new resources. We continue actively sourcing high-quality recycled woven fabrics for future collections.

Small Batch Production in New York

Lorrel produces in small-batch quantities in Brooklyn, New York.

Small batch production allows us to reduce excess inventory, maintain exceptional quality, and minimize overproduction — one of fashion’s greatest environmental challenges.

Pre-Order Model

We implement seasonal pre-orders to produce based on demand. This reduces waste, limits deadstock, and supports thoughtful production planning.

Sustainability is not a marketing claim for us — it is a continuous commitment to responsible sourcing, small batch manufacturing, and creating versatile wardrobe essentials designed to last.
